Your data and this site

What does the form send?

The form sends what you type in: your name, one way to reach you and your note about a place, that is the change, a page that shows it and how you know it. The address and language of the page you sent it from are added. A hidden field that people never see catches spam robots.

What happens to a note?

Notes are held by a form service until the next revision reads them and are used only to check and act on what they report. Nobody is contacted unless a note asks for a reply and gives a contact. Names and contacts never appear on the site, are never sold and are never passed to the club, school or organiser; the update log records the change, not the sender.

Are visits counted?

Bielefeld Chess sets no cookies. A small script from the site's own domain counts page views and clicks on outgoing links; it stores nothing in the browser and follows nobody to other sites. A view records the page, the page before it, the browser, the type of device and the country taken from the request, and only totals are read.

Is anything loaded from elsewhere?

There is no advertising, no social media button and no outside tracker; fonts, icons and images come from the site itself. Links to sources and maps lead to other sites, which have their own privacy rules. The hosting provider handles technical data such as IP addresses only as far as delivering the pages needs.

Which rights do you have?

Under the GDPR you may ask what a note of yours contains and have it corrected or deleted: send a new note through the form with the same name and contact and say what you want, and it is done at the next revision. You may also complain to a data protection authority, for example the one of the Land where you live.
